Make Your Voice Be Heard & VOTE!

This Novemer, educators in Virginia have a chance to elect a pro-worker and pro-public education majority in both the Virginia House of Delegates and the State Senate. From lifting the arbitrary support cap and fully funding our schools to ensuring schools are safe environments and protecting marginalized students, there is a lot of work to do. With all 140 General Assembly seats up for election, AFT Virginia members can make a real impact.

Voting Information

Voter Registration

Deadline to register to vote, or update an existing registration: October 16, 2023.

Voters may utilize the new “Same Day Voter Registration” laws and register after this date, through Election Day, and vote using a provisional ballot. You may same day register at the office of your general registrar or satellite location during the early voting period. On Election Day, you must go to the polling place for the precinct in which you reside.

Early Vote Information

The first day of in-person early voting at your local registrar’s office: Friday, September 22, 2023.

The last day of in-person early voting at your local voter registration office:  Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 5:00 p.m.

Election Day Voting

On Election Day, polling hours are from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. As long as you are in line by 7:00 p.m., you will be able to vote.
